This past year we've been continuing our efforts to spread the word about Terror Chasm. In the coming months we're going to be employing some new methods to entice people to try out the demo. The first thing that we are going to be doing is creating some new trailers for the game. These will be our first genuinely cinematic trailers. The idea behind this is to get more attention, as well as to communicate the quality of the game.

Gamers have a lot of options, and so it's important to stand out. Even with a free demo, we're still asking for the gamer's time; and so it's essential that we let them know that not only does Terror Chasm exist, but that it's worth playing. These are the two challenges you must overcome when marketing a game like this. The gamers have to be aware of the game, and they need to know that it'll be enjoyable for them. Efforts towards the first goal of building awareness of the game are greatly enhanced by also, simultaneously, communicating that the game is good and worth a try. If people like what they see then it is more likely to stick in their minds and they are more likely to spread it.

So this is our most immediate challenge and what we're going to be working on for the foreseeable future. Of course many of these marketing efforts will also benefit the game itself, as much of the improved art that I create for these trailers may end up in the game directly, or at least inspire content which will go into further updates for Terror Chasm. Additionally, the more people who play the demo, the more feedback we will get as we complete the full game. It's very exciting.

Marketing is tricky, and it can be especially challenging in a competitive and creative industry like video games. This is something that I've been studying for a few years now, and I look forward to mastering it. And you can look forward to seeing what we come up with, and what we do next.
